Insurance and Contracts

Do you carry public liability insurance?

Yes, we are fully insured with £10M worth of public liability insurance to ensure the protection of all parties involved, providing you with complete peace of mind.

Do you provide a written contract?

We issue a written contract for every event, ensuring transparency and clarity. Receipts for payments will also be issued, either in writing or via email.

What music styles do you play?

At EKOM, we specialise in creating unforgettable party experiences with a wide range of music to suit every taste and atmosphere. Our expert DJs know how to read the crowd and keep the energy high, ensuring the dance floor stays full throughout the event.

From the latest chart hits and timeless retro classics to funky grooves, EDM, R&B, rock, pop, party anthems, and much more, we’ve got the perfect soundtrack for your celebration.

We’re also happy to incorporate a variety of global rhythms to add a personal touch. Whatever your style, we’ll bring the perfect vibe to your event.

We encourage couples to share their must-play and do-not-play songs, allowing us to tailor the playlist to their unique preferences. Our goal is to create a one-of-a-kind experience that you and your guests will cherish for years to come.

Do you use third-party equipment or DJs?

No, we don’t. We are proud to say that all our equipment and DJs are exclusively part of EKOM. We maintain multiple high-quality setups and a team of skilled, experienced DJs who are integral to our company. This ensures we deliver consistent excellence and never rely on third-party companies that might compromise the quality of your special event.

By keeping everything in-house, we guarantee the highest standards of service, reliability, and professionalism, making your event truly unforgettable.

How does the DJ dress?

For weddings and corporate events, our DJs dress in business attire, typically a suit or, at a minimum, a collared shirt and trousers. For black-tie events or formal weddings, our DJs can wear a dinner jacket to blend in seamlessly with the event’s elegance. If you have specific requirements, simply let us or your DJ know in advance.

Do you take breaks?

No, our DJs provide uninterrupted service from the moment your guests arrive to the final song of the evening.

Can we meet our DJ before the event?

We recommend an in-person meeting with your DJ, either at the venue or via a Zoom call, about a month before your event to finalise details, ask questions, and receive tailored suggestions.

What is the backup plan in case of an emergency?

We have never encountered an issue before, as we use top-of-the-range equipment that is regularly serviced and maintained. We also conduct sound and lighting checks well before the actual event time where possible. Additionally, we are local, which allows us to respond quickly in the rare event that something unexpected arises. Your event is our priority, and we always strive to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Do you offer services for overseas weddings?

Yes, we are delighted to provide our DJ services for overseas weddings. Whether your celebration is in a picturesque villa, a beachside venue, or a historic location abroad, we are experienced in working with international destinations to make your event unforgettable.

Do you cater to specific cultural or international wedding styles?

Yes, we don’t just specialise in traditional English weddings. Our DJs are highly skilled at delivering exceptional experiences for a variety of cultural and international weddings, including Italian, Polish, Brazilian, Afro-Caribbean, African, and Turkish celebrations. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll ensure the music and atmosphere perfectly reflect your traditions and preferences.

Logistics and Setup

How much time do you require to set up?

Our team typically arrive two hours before the event start time to set up, especially if early morning or the evening before access is unavailable. For larger packages or more complex setups, additional time may be needed. We always ensure that sound and lighting checks are completed well in advance, so you can rest assured that everything will be ready to go—no last-minute rush!

Payments and Fees

What are the payment requirements?

Our deposits start at £100, depending on the chosen package. The remaining balance is due four weeks before the event. We accept a variety of payment methods, including credit cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

What is the overtime rate?

Our overtime rate is charged after the contracted end time (typically 12 am). The rate may vary depending on the type of event, location, and the base contract. To ensure the best experience, we encourage clients to discuss and extend their contract prior to the event.

Are there any hidden charges?

No, all costs are outlined in your contract upfront. Any travel fees, if applicable, are included in the quoted rate.

Technology and Planning

Do you offer online planning tools?

Yes, we have an intuitive online planning system with a planning form, itinerary builder, music request tools, messaging system, secure payment gateway, and feedback portal. While these tools are optional, we strongly encourage wedding clients to use the planning form for thorough preparation.

Can I email my details instead?

Yes, you can email your details if preferred.

Optional Services

Do you provide extras like separate PA systems or photo-booths?

Yes, we offer a variety of optional add-ons. Contact us for more details and pricing.

Can you provide a microphone for speeches?

Yes, a wireless microphone is included in all our packages, perfect for speeches and announcements.
